The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is the umbrella organization for Special Interest Groups (SIGs) with an emphasis on computer science. The ACM Special Interest Group on Security, Audit and Control (ACM SIGSAC) mission is to develop the information security profession by sponsoring high quality research conferences and workshops.
The main focus of the ACM SIGSAC Vienna chapter members consists of research in the area of security and privacy, with a strong focus on topics like mobile security, usable security and privacy, network security, cloud security and digital forensics.
The overall goal of the ACM SIGSAC Vienna chapter is to bring together security researchers from different institutions to facilitate the promotion of ideas and to establish collaborations. Therefore, we organize several conferences and events.
Although our members spend most of their time doing research, we plan and accomplish several events throughout the year. We organize both scientific conferences and public initiatives.
